Edwin & Lola Jones
Lillian E. Jones' Parents
Lillian E. Jones: Her Story
In 1888, Edwin married Lola Williams, a minister’s daughter from Gallia County who would live in Jackson County for eighty years. They had three children.
(1) Donald, who joined in various family business, married Marion McCaslen in 1921. They had one adopted son, Donald, now of Cincinnati, who still spends much of his time at the family home near Fairgreens Country Club. Donald Sr. died in 1938.
(2) Dwight, born in 1896, was Lillian's younger brother and also in the family business (mainly the Crown Pipe & Foundry Company). He married Katherine Parrish in 1921. They had one daughter, Nancy, who now makes her home in Florida. In 1930, Donald and Dwight formed the Jackson Amusement Company and built the Markay and Kaymar Theaters (named, of course, for their wives). Dwight died in 1956.
(3) Lillian was born September 10, 1893. She went to boarding school at the Knickerbocker School for Girls in Indianapolis. After graduation, she went to France for a year to study voice. Her first love was the piano, but her father wanted her to study voice and so she did. After leaving France, she lived in New York “taking” music. Lillian did not talk much about herself, but we do know she was still in New York in 1923. She would have been thirty at that time.
