Markay Cultural Arts Center
(Southern Hills Arts Council)

The Markay is a 1930 Art Deco movie theater. Exhibits in the gallery change on a monthly basis. Renovations to the stage part of the theater are currently underway by the Southern Hills Arts Council.

Welsh - American Heritage Museum

The Welsh - American Heritage Museum not only strives to keep Welsh traditions alive but continues to be a link with “the land of the red dragon” through visits and programs between people here and people in Wales. For information on the museum and its hours, please call the curator.

Wellston Historical Association

The WHA office houses bound copies of the Wellston Sentinel (1947 - 1994) as well as a growing collection of artifacts. They also have a computer and printer available for recording historical research and genealogy.

History Day at University RIO Grande LINKS

This is a LINK to History Day at University of Rio Grande.

Students make history come alive as their research leads to imaginative exhibits, original performances, media documentaries and papers in junior and senior divisions of seven different categories. History Day demonstrates that students learn history when they do history.
